Football Recap: Foothill Takes a Loss

Foothill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 38-17 to the Livermore Cowboys. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 529th, while the Cowboys are ranked 237th).

When it comes to explaining why Foothill lost, don't look at Max Shuga. Despite the final result, he picked up 127 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 42 yards. Shuga showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 62 yards.

Even if they lost, Foothill's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Ethan Enright with two. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.2 total tackles per game.

Foothill now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Livermore, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foothill will host Redwood Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' defense has only allowed 10.6 points per game this season, so the Falcons' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Livermore, they will be playing at home against Granada at 7:15 p.m. on the 7th.
