Covington's game  on Tuesday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Thursday. They were the clear victors by  a  3-0 margin over the Ripley Tigers. The Chargers not only won  on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win  since August 21st (when they won  3-0).
 Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Covington took every set by at least 16 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-8,  25-9.
 Ava McCalla paced Covington's offense, picking up 20 kills. McCalla got some help from  Caroline Cole and her 21 assists.
Covington's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Ripley,  they are  on  a  13-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Covington will square off against Memphis Home Education Association at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday. As for Ripley, they will take on Munford at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday.
