Baseball Recap: Stratton Takes a Loss

Stratton lost to McClave back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Eagles took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 13, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Dominic Hornung put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.

Stratton's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for McClave, their record now sits at 12-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Cardinals beat Stratton by a score of 7-4 later that day.
