Soccer Game Preview: Roanoke Rapids vs. East Duplin

The Roanoke Rapids Yellowjackets will face off against the East Duplin Panthers on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Roanoke Rapids comes in on five and East Duplin on three.

Roanoke Rapids is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand Southwest Onslow a 1-0 shutout. Give Roanoke Rapids' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Casey Neal, who's now up to 60 this season.

Washington typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday East Duplin proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Pam Pack by a score of 3-1. Three seems to be a good number for East Duplin as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Roanoke Rapids' win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up four goals over those 11 matches. As for East Duplin, their win bumped their record up to 13-8-2.
