Firestone barely beat Western Reserve Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons blew past the Pioneers 14-6 on Wednesday. Considering the Falcons have won eight matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Nate Plas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, earning two runs and two stolen bases.
In other batting news, Tony Miller was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Malcolm Bufford, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Firestone kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.
