Basketball Recap: Shalom Christian Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Fannett Metal last Friday, Shalom Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Shalom Christian Academy Flames lost 54-31 to the McConnellsburg Spartans on Saturday. The contest marked the Flames' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

McConnellsburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hoyt Glenn led the charge by going 8 of 14 on his way to 22 points in addition to seven blocks and five assists. Glenn's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Ramsey, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and eight blocks.

Shalom Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for McConnellsburg, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Shalom Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Harrisburg Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for McConnellsburg, they will square off against Claysburg-Kimmel at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
