Baseball Recap: Cushing Comes Up Short

Cushing kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Elkhart Elks, falling 9-3. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

The victory was the third in a row for Elkhart, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Coming up, Cushing will be playing at home against Brookeland at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Elkhart, they will take on All Saints Episcopal in a tournament on Thursday. The Elks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season.
