Softball Recap: New Brunswick Zebra vs. Dunellen Destroyers

New Brunswick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dunellen Destroyers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Destroyers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-2 last Wednesday.

Libni Ester Gijon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Alaissa Rosario, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases.

New Brunswick's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Dunellen, their record now sits at 10-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Brunswick will challenge Rutgers Prep on Friday. As for Dunellen, they will take on South Amboy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
