Softball Game Preview: Clear Brook Wolverines vs. Clear Springs Chargers

Clear Brook is 2-8 against Clear Springs since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Clear Brook will square off against Clear Springs at 6:30 p.m. Clear Brook has given up an average of 12.5 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Clear Brook is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Brazoswood, falling 17-6.

Ahiza Garcia made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Estrella Rowe was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Garcia wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Clear Brook kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Clear Springs didn't have quite enough to beat Clear Creek on Tuesday and fell 5-4. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Makenzie Thomas was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Erianna Garcia, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Clear Brook's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Clear Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-4.

Clear Brook suffered a grim 19-7 defeat to Clear Springs in their previous meeting on March 4th. Can Clear Brook avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
