Baseball Game Preview: Cane Bay Cobras vs. Wando Warriors

For the second straight game, Cane Bay will face off against Wando. The Cobras will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cane Bay is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Cane Bay didn't have quite enough to beat Wando and fell 5-4. The Cobras have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Owen Curry was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Cane Bay's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 2-5 when he doesn't).

Curry wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jesse Hernandez, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI. Cayden Haught also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Wando's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-7. As for Cane Bay, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
