Volleyball Recap: Dugway Takes a Loss

After flying high against Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams last Wednesday, Dugway came back down to earth. Dugway came up short against the Salt Lake Academy Griffins on Friday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

While Dugway was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-15, 25-22.

Their offense was headlined by Quaid Elton and Gary Williams, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Cru Andrus and his 18 assists. Williams was also solid from the service line: he led the team with six aces.

Dugway now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Salt Lake Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Dugway has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Wasatch Academy on the 25th. As for Salt Lake Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Juab on the 25th.
