Basketball Recap: Norfolk Collegiate's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

If Hampton Roads Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Norfolk Collegiate, they should've done a better job of containing Justin Burrough. The Norfolk Collegiate Mighty Oaks put the hurt on the Hampton Roads Academy Navigators with a sharp 53-33 victory on Tuesday thanks in part to Burrough, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. What's more, he also racked up five blocks, the most he's had since back in February of 2024.

With the win, Norfolk Collegiate broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-4. As for Hampton Roads Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Norfolk Collegiate will be playing in front of their home fans against Norfolk Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Norfolk Collegiate is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.2 points per game this season. As for Hampton Roads Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Steward at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Steward's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
