Squalicum and Lakewood pushed the score to 7-1 the last time they played Lakewood, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Storm's defense stepped up to hand the Cougars a 1-0 shutout. Squalicum haven't had any issues with Lakewood recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Squalicum's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six matchups.
