Soccer Game Preview: Western Guilford vs. High Point Central

The Western Guilford Hornets will venture away from home to face off against the High Point Central Bison at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Western Guilford is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Southern Guilford on Wednesday. Neither Western Guilford nor Southern Guilford could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Western Guilford's goal came courtesy of Ngan Tran, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, High Point Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Thomasville, falling 5-1. The Bison were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 4-0.

Western Guilford's draw gives them a new season record of 3-2-1. As for High Point Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4-1.

Everything went Western Guilford's way against High Point Central in their previous meeting last Monday, as Western Guilford made off with a 9-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Western Guilford since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
