Preview: Hamilton Yankees vs. Westchester Comets
The Hamilton Yankees will head out on the road to face off against the Westchester Comets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hamilton will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
Hamilton owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They breezed by University on the road to the tune of 28-0. The result was nothing new for Hamilton, who have now won three games by 20 points or more so far this season.
Hamilton can attribute much of their success to Gino O'neal, who picked up 95 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Meanwhile, Westchester lost to Fairfax on the road by a decisive 35-18 margin on Friday. Westchester has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Westchester had strong showings from Landon Davis, who rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown, and Dawan Scott, who picked up 64 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Hamilton's victory bumped their season record to 4-5 while Westchester's loss dropped theirs to 3-6.
Hamilton came up short against Westchester when the teams last played back in September of 2022, falling 24-13. Thankfully for Hamilton, Terrell Boatner (who rushed for 267 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
