Basketball Game Preview: Central Woodstock Falcons vs. Luray Bulldogs

The Central Woodstock Falcons will challenge the Luray Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Central Woodstock will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Central Woodstock took a 25-point loss the last time they faced off against Fort Defiance, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Central Woodstock came out on top in a nail-biter against Fort Defiance on Thursday, sneaking past 70-68. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th in Virginia, while the Indians are ranked 204th in Virginia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Luray had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victor by a 91-71 margin over Buckingham on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Central Woodstock pushed their record up to 24-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.2 points over those games. As for Luray, their win bumped their record up to 19-7.

Central Woodstock didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Luray when the teams last played last Thursday, but they still walked away with a 61-57 victory.
