Volleyball Recap: Hononegah Now 21-2 over Last 23 Games

Hononegah won the last time they faced Freeport and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Indians walked away with a 2-0 win over the Pretzels.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Hononegah took both sets by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-13.

Hononegah's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Owen Rollinson led the charge by getting 35 assists and three digs. Rollinson has been hot for a while, having posted 14 or more assists the last 17 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Carter Freedlund, who had 11 kills and four digs.

Hononegah has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 21 of their last 23 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-6 record this season. As for Freeport, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hononegah will take on rival Rockford East at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Freeport is set to square off against their familiar foe Harlem at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
