Baseball Recap: Swampscott Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Swampscott's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Salem Witches on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Big Blue's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Swampscott's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-4. As for Salem, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Swampscott will take on Saugus at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. The last five games the Sachems have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Salem, they will be playing at home against Winthrop at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
