Football Recap: Derrion Davis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mcadory over Hueytown + How To Watch

McAdory's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 43-36 to the Hueytown Golden Gophers. The Yellowjackets were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Derrion Davis, who rushed for 99 yards and two scores on only 12 carries. Kawann Johnson helped out on the ground, rushing for 81 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Hueytown had a senior duo take command as Quentrell Jackson picked up 123 receiving yards and one TD and Kobe Coleman picked up 112 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 123 receiving yards set a new season-high mark for Jackson.

Having lost for the first time this season, McAdory fell to 5-1. As for Hueytown, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. McAdory will head out to face off against Paul W. Bryant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets will be up against the Stampede's rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.86 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Hueytown, they are taking a road trip to challenge Brookwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Gophers will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.88 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
