Basketball Recap: Carroll County Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Carroll County challenged Gallatin County on Wednesday. The Panthers took a blow against the Wildcats, falling 77-49. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-45 back in December of 2025.

Carroll County has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for Gallatin County, with the win, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-16.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Carroll County is set to take on their familiar foe Owen County at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Gallatin County will face off against rival Henry County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
