Recap: St. Patrick Fighting Irish vs. Tylertown Chiefs
The St. Patrick Fighting Irish waltzed into their game on Friday with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 58-48 win over Tylertown. For St. Patrick, this counts as revenge for the 64-51 defeat Tylertown walked away with the last time they faced one another on January 5th.
Matt Krass was his usual excellent self, scoring 32 points along with four steals. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of St. Patrick's points. Another player making a difference was Brendan Moton, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
St. Patrick's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.9 points per game. As for Tylertown, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Patrick will take on St. Stanislaus at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tylertown, they will head out on the road to take on West Marion at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. West Marion has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
