Football Game Preview: East Bladen Eagles vs. Tarboro Vikings

Two dominant backs in Jaden Lewis and Kamerin McDowell-Moore are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The East Bladen Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Tarboro Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as East Bladen comes in on five and Tarboro on 22.

East Bladen is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took down Manteo 38-21.

Meanwhile, Tarboro humbled Hobbton with a 47-12 victory. Considering the Vikings have won eight matchups by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Antonio Draughn, Jr and Caiden Everette. Draughn, Jr rushed for 103 yards and a pair of TDs on only five carries while Everette rushed for 60 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards Draughn, Jr has posted since back in September.

Tarboro was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 466 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 196 rushing yards in 24 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Tarboro didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Everette and Jaden Jenkins.

East Bladen's record is now 9-3. As for Tarboro, their record now sits at 12-0.

East Bladen came up short against Tarboro when the teams last played back in November of 2023, falling 20-13. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
