Basketball Game Preview: Statesville Greyhounds vs. St. Stephens Indians

Statesville is 0-7 against St. Stephens since January of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Statesville Greyhounds will host the St. Stephens Indians at 6:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Wednesday, Statesville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 42-36 to North Iredell.

Meanwhile, St. Stephens played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by East Lincoln 68-26. The Indians have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

St. Stephens' loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Statesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Statesville might still be hurting after the 53-32 loss they got from St. Stephens in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Thankfully for Statesville, Molli Harris (who went 6 of 9 on her way to 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists) won't be suiting up this time.
