Softball Game Preview: Peoria Notre Dame Irish vs. St. Teresa Bulldogs

The Peoria Notre Dame Irish will take on the St. Teresa Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Peoria Notre Dame is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest loss since April 13, 2024 on Wednesday. They lost 11-4 to Rochester. The Irish have struggled against the Rockets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Mady Gibson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Meanwhile, St. Teresa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Warrensburg-Latham.

St. Teresa saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Boyer, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Peoria Notre Dame's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for St. Teresa, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-20.

Peoria Notre Dame skirted past St. Teresa 7-5 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Irish have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
