Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakewood). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Sexton Big Reds a 23-0 shutout on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on four straight.

Lakewood's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-7. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Sexton, they are on a 27-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Lakewood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 9-7 victory against South Haven on the 10th. As for Sexton, they will square off against Ionia at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
