Baseball Recap: Belmont Comes Up Short

Belmont lost against Alcorn Central last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Belmont came up short against Alcorn Central, falling 7-1. The Cardinals just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Brayden Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Belmont's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Alcorn Central, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-7.

Belmont has already played their next game, a 19-1 loss against New Site on the 22nd. As for Alcorn Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 12-7 victory against Milan on the 22nd.
