Robertson took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against West Las Vegas, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cardinals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Dons on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Dons back in March, they had to take a 14-6 loss.

Connor Bonney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Robertson's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Ortiz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

The win made it two in a row for Robertson and bumps their season record up to 10-5-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for West Las Vegas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-3.

Looking ahead, Robertson will face off against Raton at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season. As for West Las Vegas, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-3 victory against Hot Springs on the 16th.
