Volleyball Recap: Union County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Union County faced off against Ringgold on Tuesday. The Panthers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Union County sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-16, 23-25, 15-11.

Their offense was headlined by Emry Sosensky and Sofia Foster, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Kamryn Brown and her 22 assists. Reese Jones controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Union County's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Ringgold, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 20-8.

Union County and Ringgold should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Panthers (ranked 124th) will meet Pickens (ranked 264th) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Ringgold will challenge Grace Baptist Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (96 vs. 271).
