Basketball Recap: Gainesville Comes Up Short

Gainesville lost to Van Alstyne back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Leopards took a hard 49-35 fall against the Panthers.

Gainesville's defeat dropped their record down to 24-11. As for Van Alstyne, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-10.

Gainesville and Van Alstyne should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Leopards will take on Aubrey at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (288 vs. 834). Meanwhile, Van Alstyne (ranked 332nd) will meet Sanger (ranked 682nd) at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
