Waterloo is a perfect 5-0 against Granite City since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Waterloo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
While Waterloo's victory against Triad wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Knights 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted against the Knights since April 12, 2022.
Aidan Dintelman made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over nine innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 19 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Sam Juelfs was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mallory Thompson, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.
Waterloo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Triad only posted a batting average of .235.
Meanwhile, Granite City hadn't done well against Collinsville recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Warriors blew past the Kahoks 14-1. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Kahoks recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Like Waterloo, Granite City also got a great game from a two-way player: Christine Myers. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Myers was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Granite City let Cheyenne Gaddie and Chloe Randolph run wild. Gaddie fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-3, while Randolph went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and four runs. Randolph continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Rachel Willaredt was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Waterloo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. As for Granite City, their record now sits at 9-16.
Granite City's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Waterloo has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. It's a different story for Granite City, though, as they've been averaging 8.9 hits. Given Waterloo's sizable advantage in that area, the Warriors will need to find a way to close that gap.
Waterloo took their win against Granite City in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
