Basketball Recap: McDonald County Takes a Loss

McDonald County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 65-31 loss at the hands of the Mt. Vernon Mountaineers. The Mustangs lost against the Mountaineers in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 58-47 score last time.

McDonald County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Mt. Vernon, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.

McDonald County has already played their next game (against Lamar), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Mt. Vernon, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-37 victory against East Newton on the 7th.
