Basketball Game Preview: Pleasant Grove Spartans vs. Gardendale Rockets

The Pleasant Grove Spartans just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Gardendale Rockets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pleasant Grove has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Pleasant Grove turned things around against Oak Grove on Monday. They claimed a resounding 82-35 victory over the Tigers. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-18.

Meanwhile, Gardendale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Clay-Chalkville 74-46. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while the Cougars are ranked 17th).

Gardendale's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Pleasant Grove, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-13-1.
