Covenant entered their tilt with Hannan on Saturday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Hannan Wildcats 53-50. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 57-52 back in December of 2024.

Hannan's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hayden Taylor, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Bryce Phillips, who earned 12 points.

Covenant's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Hannan, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Covenant Eagles face off against the Lakeside Christian Academy Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hannan, they will face off against Parkersburg Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
