Basketball Game Preview: Linganore Lancers vs. North Hagerstown Hubs

The Linganore Lancers will head out to challenge the North Hagerstown Hubs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Linganore is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

On Friday, Linganore needed a bit of extra time to put away Governor Thomas Johnson. They came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 74-65.

Linganore can attribute much of their success to Dylan Hodgson, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds, and Brandon Donaldson, who posted 20 points. Hodgson has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 11 times he's played. Quintin Byrd was another key player, putting up ten points.

Meanwhile, North Hagerstown suffered their closest defeat since January 2, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Tuscarora by a score of 64-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (59), the Hubs still had to take the loss.

Linganore pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.2 points over those games. As for North Hagerstown, their loss dropped their record down to 13-4.

Linganore beat North Hagerstown 55-42 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Linganore since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
