Baseball Recap: Cerritos Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cerritos can now relate to. They fell just short of the Marshall Eagles by a score of 6-4 on Tuesday.

Cerritos got a good showing from Jacob Hoosac, who pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

At the plate, Braxton Reed was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Dalton Chi, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Cerritos has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-14 record this season. As for Marshall, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6-1 record this season.

Cerritos does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marshall, they will face off against Santa Fe at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Chiefs will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
