Basketball Game Preview: Elk City Elks vs. Yukon Millers

The Elk City Elks will square off against the Yukon Millers at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Back in November, Elk City earned a 33-26 win over Fort Elliott.

Meanwhile, everything went Yukon's way against Woodward on Friday as Yukon made off with a 57-37 victory. The Millers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Yukon's win came from a few key players Elk City will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ashley Cox, who posted 18 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenlea Jefferson, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 16 points and five rebounds.

Elk City might still be hurting after the 41-17 defeat they got from Yukon in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Elk City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
