Riverside faced Mauldin in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Warriors fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 2-1. The Warriors' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Levi Miller paced Riverside's offense, picking up seven kills. Miller got some help from Ignacio Miguez and his 12 assists.

Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Mauldin, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Riverside will head out on the road to face off against James F. Byrnes at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mauldin, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Catawba Ridge on the 6th.
