Connor Smith turned in yet another pitching appearance with fewer than three walks surrendered on Wednesday. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Webster Thomas is 4-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-3 otherwise.

Looking ahead, Smith and Webster Thomas will square off against Hilton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Titans got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Cadets thanks in part to Smith: he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
