Basketball Recap: Spring Creek Find Success

Spring Creek was handed a 21-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They had just enough and edged the Midway Raiders out 47-44. This was payback for the Gators, who suffered a 43-27 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Midway had strong showings from Kara Beth Benton, who posted 17 points, and Peyton Herring, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most points Benton has posted since back in January.

The victory got Spring Creek back to even at 2-2. As for Midway, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-1.

Spring Creek will challenge Arendell Parrott Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Midway, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 40-29 loss against James Kenan on the 11th.
