Basketball Game Preview: North Garland Raiders vs. Lone Star Rangers

The North Garland Raiders and the Lone Star Rangers will round out the year against one another at at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.

North Garland will head out to face Lone Star after giving up their first home loss of the season on Friday. North Garland fell 62-54 to Naaman Forest.

Meanwhile, Lone Star came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Lions by a score of 77-65. Given the Rangers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 181st, while the Lions are ranked 710th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

North Garland's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-7. As for Lone Star, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

North Garland came up short against Lone Star in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 43-35. Can North Garland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
