Soccer Game Preview: Lafayette vs. Kellam

The Lafayette Rams will take on the Kellam Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lafayette comes in on seven and Kellam on 11.

Lafayette's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 4-0 margin over Tabb. Given Lafayette's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Tabb are ranked 140th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Kellam got the win against Princess Anne on Friday by a conclusive 7-0. Give Kellam's defense some credit: that's the team's eighth straight shutout.

Lafayette pushed their record up to 8-2-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matches. As for Kellam, their victory bumped their record up to 11-0.
