Football Recap: Manasquan Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Manasquan can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Camden Panthers and fell 46-6. The Warriors were red-hot offensively heading into the contest (they scored no less than 31 points in the three games prior), but the Panthers' defense proved too tough.

It was another big night for Ahmad Jones, who threw for 313 yards and five TDs while completing 75.9% of his passes for Camden. Jones has been hot recently, having posted four or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Camden's leading receiver Ibn Muhammad was Jones' top target yet again, picking up 103 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

With the defeat, Manasquan broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2. As for Camden, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2.

Coincidentally, Manasquan and Camden will both be playing Wall Township the next time they take the field. The Panthers will head out to face the Crimson Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Warriors will head out to face them at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th.
