Lyman had lost nine games straight , but after bumping their record up to 5-17 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They blew past the Colonial Grenadiers 12-2. The Greyhounds' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ava Campanale was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Makayla Darwent, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Lyman lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

As for Colonial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. Their defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

On Colonial's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ivanna Febres Soler, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Lyman has already played their next match, a 20-5 win against Pine Ridge on the 21st. As for Colonial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 16-1 loss against Lake Nona on the 22nd.
