Baseball Game Preview: Dunsmuir Tigers vs. Mt. Shasta Bears

The Dunsmuir Tigers will head out to face off against the Mt. Shasta Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dunsmuir has given up an average of 15.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Dunsmuir is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They lost 27-0 to Hayfork.

Meanwhile, Mt. Shasta gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Modoc, sneaking past 4-3.

Keikea Ferguson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mt. Shasta saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sabyn Solus, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Mt. Shasta has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Dunsmuir, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

Dunsmuir suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Mt. Shasta when the teams last played back in March of 2015. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
