Basketball Recap: Newton Homeschool Falls Despite Big Games from Abella Guthrie and Rachel Graham

Newton HomeSchool lost against Fellowship Baptist Academy back in January of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Newton HomeSchool Panthers took a 41-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fellowship Baptist Academy Falcons. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Newton HomeSchool's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Rachel Graham, who went 6-for-14 on her way to 14 points and five boards, and Abella Guthrie, who posted two points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 boards gave Guthrie a new career-high.

Newton HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Fellowship Baptist Academy, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Newton HomeSchool wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-12 defeat against Wichita Defenders HomeSchool on the 15th. Fellowship Baptist Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
