Basketball Recap: Harvey Drops Season-High Score on Lakeside

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Harvey). They were the clear victor by a 98-72 margin over the Lakeside Dragons on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Red Raiders in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won three in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Harvey to victory, but perhaps none more so than Deontae Ware, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 16 boards. What's more, Ware also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Eryck McClain, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds.

Harvey smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Harvey's victory bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Lakeside, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.

Looking ahead, Harvey won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Kirtland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harvey knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Kirtland likes a good challenge. As for Lakeside, they will head out on the road to face off against Pymatuning Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
