League recap: Cedaredge's Walker delivers best pitching performance from past week

3A Western Slope league recap: 3/27/13

Cedaredge's Trent Walker was the best pitcher in 3A Western Slope this week. He racked up 13 strike outs this week.

Olathe outperformed the rest of the league this week, as its two total wins led the league. The Pirates beat Roaring Fork 23-11 and the Rams 10-6.

Olathe boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

The Bruins, the league's stolen base leader this season with 24, added to their lead in that category with 16 more steals over the past week.

Four batters hit over .400 this week. They were led by Aaron Henrie, who hit .625 this week (5-for-8).



Walker's six RBIs this week put him at the number one spot for the league. He now stands at eight RBIs on the season, which puts him second in the league.

Walker led Basalt to a win on March 23, as he notched nine strikeouts to beat the Bruins, 8-6. He gave up nine hits and seven runs over five innings of work.
