            Baseball Preview: Nevada Union Miners vs. Sutter Huskies        
        
		
        
        
            The Nevada Union Miners are taking a road trip to  take on the Sutter Huskies  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Nevada Union is coming into the  matchup on  a  five-game losing streak.
On Friday, Nevada Union came up short against Yuba City  and fell  8-4.
  Isaac Arnerich was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 2-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI.  Nate Hundemer also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  triple of the season.
Sutter's found some homefield redemption this week after a  overtime loss to Destiny Christian Academy on Friday. The Huskies skirted past the Lions  2-1.
 Sam Cheatle made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  doubles and one  run. Those  two  doubles gave  him a new career-high.
 In other pitching news, Sutter got a great performance from  Mason McCall as he  struck out six batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned run off   seven  hits. McCall has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in eight consecutive appearances.
 Cheatle wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Carson Bishop, who  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  run.
 Sutter  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters  in three consecutive  contests.
 Sutter is  on a roll lately: they've  won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-4 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Nevada Union, their loss dropped their record down to 10-18.
 Nevada Union came up short against Sutter in their previous meeting  back in March of 2024, falling  10-6. Can the Miners avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
