Basketball Recap: Valor Academy vs. East Valley Falcons
Valor Academy kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 70-44 to the East Valley Falcons. Valor Academy was down 47-24 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Despite the loss, Valor Academy still got an impressive performance from Maliqq Van Arsdale, who had 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Raul Guzman, who scored six points.
East Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayule Song out in front who went 9 for 18 en route to 25 points plus two steals. Lukas Carone was another key player, scoring 16 points plus six assists and six steals.
Valor Academy will face off against Community Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Valor Academy will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak dating back to last season alive. As for East Valley, they will square off against Valley Oaks CES at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
