Volleyball Recap: Sneads Takes a Loss

Sneads lost against Liberty County back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Pirates came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 3-0. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sneads was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-16, 25-13.

When it comes to explaining why Sneads lost, don't look at LaRay Gibbs. Despite the final result, she had 14 digs. Gibbs is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 28 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Shaleigh Harrell, who had ten digs and three aces.

Liberty County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emery McCaskill, who had four digs and three aces.

Sneads' loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Liberty County, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sneads will welcome Vernon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Liberty County, they will face off against Maclay at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
